Marriage is the coming together of a male and female to fulfill Gods purpose on the face of the earth. That means marriage was designed first and foremost to help a man fulfill his God’s giving purpose here on earth. Gen 2:15, 18, 20 (NIV)
Verse 15: The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Verse 18: The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Verse 20: So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
Before you were born, God have already prepared your life partner for you only the issue of God opening your eyes to know the person, it is the desire of everyone to have a life partner that he or she will live happily forever with but most times our desires seems to be different from the reality.
Before anyone can have a successful marriage, the man must be able to discover his purpose on earth, Gen 2 verse 15; we see that the man was put in the garden with an assignment to take care of it. Anyone who is ready for marriage is a man who has discovered his purpose on earth.
The man has being able to discover his primary assignment on earth before the thought of who to marry comes. For the ladies, if a man hasn’t discover what he is living for, what are you going to help him to achieve all the days of your life on earth.
Let’s look at the reason why the Lord God said it was not good that the man should be alone, an assignment was given to him and he was busy with that assignment and God saw that he needed help, and then the issue of “the helper” comes in.
Ladies don’t let desperation be the reason why you are ready to accept anyone in marriage. The man should be able to state in clarity what he is living for and if you were designed to be together you will know it within your sub-conscious man.
I remembered when the Lord lay within my heart that it time to be married, after I had a conviction to marry my wife, I gave her the journal of Gods plan for my future. It took her hours of careful studies, when she was done she brought the journal to me. I can see the surprise in her eyes, I asked her the question; ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO MARRY SUCH A MAN? And she replied yes. She knew the man she was about to spend the rest her life with and how the journey is likely going to be.
If a driver driving a car can’t explain to you the proper direction and he is telling you enter the car let’s just start the journey, will you enter such a car? Your husband is going to be your driver in life till death do you part.
A man who hasn’t discover the purpose of God shouldn’t be praying for a wife rather he should be praying for direction in his life so that he can lead the wife in the right direction as well.
5 Key Indicators: How to know he is the one
1. He must discover his purpose: The person must have discovered who he is or who he will become in life.
2. Vision for the Future: The person should be able to explain to you Gods plan for the future.
3. Waiting on God for his life partner: The person must have spent time in prayer for some time. I had to pray for 20 years for the choice of a life partner, after I discovered the plan of God for my life, the Lord made me to understand that what will stop his plan for my life is the wrong choice of a life partner. I was scared of approaching just any how lady for marriage discussion.
4. Personal Relationship with God: The person must have a strong relationship with God.
5. Determination to fulfill purpose: He is ready to fulfill the plan that heaven have for him at all cost.
To determine if someone is for you, he must discover his purpose, having a clear vision for the future after waiting on God for his life partner while developing a personal relationship with God and being determined to fulfill his purpose.
